CMO Moves End April Update

Ft. Automation Anywhere and Bloom Fresh

April, typically a quiet month for CMO announcements due to the combination of quarterly reports and spring break, has taken an unexpected turn this year.

As of today, there have been 31 CMO announcements, a significant increase from last year's monthly tally of 12.

Among these appointments, 18 are women and 13 are men. Three are internal promotions, while the remainder are hires from competitors, with 12 individuals stepping into the CMO role for the first time.

In terms of work arrangements, 8 will operate fully remotely, 4 will adopt a hybrid work model, and the majority will work onsite.

The software development industry leads with 13 hires, followed by 4 in the restaurant industry and 3 in IT.

Geographically, California (8), New York (4), and Colorado (3) have seen the most CMO hires once again.

Bloom Fresh

Bloom Fresh, formed last year through the merger of IFG and SNFL Group, has appointed Fiachra Moloney as its first Chief Marketing Officer.

If you are passionate about grapes, you’ve probably tried Cotton Candy.

Cotton Candy is among the first varieties naturally bred by IFG twenty years ago. Today, the Cotton Candy table grape has become a worldwide sensation.

<Editors note - they are terrific, try them if you haven’t already>

Top-level retailers from around the world sell this popular brand of grapes, including Sprouts, Costco, Sam’s Club, Tesco, Whole Foods, Kroger, Marks & Spencer, Albertsons, Safeway, and more. The grapes have been featured in films, international documentaries, and national media coverage, including ABC and NPR.

SNFL is Europe’s industry leader in table grapes generics.

The two companies are now united under the Bloom banner to advance fruit varietal breeding in taste, nutrition, sustainability, and global accessibility.

Moloney brings extensive experience in brand building and category value creation from his tenure at Procter & Gamble, Kellogg's, and Unilever. He played a pivotal role in transitioning Unilever's tea business in the UK and Ireland during its acquisition by CVC Capital Partners. His track record of creating value for consumers, retailers, and growers aligns well with Bloom Fresh's mission.

"Bloom Fresh's commitment to bringing innovation and value to the global produce markets aligns perfectly with my passion for building brands that have a positive impact on the world. I am excited to be part of a team that is transforming the industry."

said Moloney

“We are delighted to welcome Fiachra to the team. His extensive experience and proven track record in brand management and market development make him the ideal leader to drive our marketing efforts and deliver value across the supply chain."

said Josep Estiarte, CEO

Moloney's focus will be on enhancing consumer engagement, strengthening relationships with retailers and growers, and supporting Bloom Fresh's natural breeding innovation programs. These programs aim to revolutionize the category and create value for stakeholders across the supply chain.
