Now, let's explore some exciting job opportunities:

Vice President of Global Marketing at Dickies

  • Compensation: $217,600 - $272,000

  • Location: Fort Worth, TX

  • Posted: 20 days ago

VF Corporation, with nearly 1,400 vacancies, is undergoing a transformative phase. While hiring has slowed, this presents an exciting opportunity to join Dickies and be a key player in their growth journey. Previously, the company had over 3,000 open positions in 2023, and now they're offering enticing roles, including two other VP positions at Timberland and Vans, with compensation exceeding $300K.

Why Dickies?
  • Competitive compensation compared to the industry median of $180K for VP positions.

  • Median salary for full-time positions in Fort Worth, TX, is around $50K.

  • Management changes and a quest for new growth make this role pivotal.

  •  The job description emphasizes specific performance metrics, highlighting accountability and transparency.

Like a lot of jobs we see on the client side, this one requires more than an ability to delegate to others. The JD actually calls out needing a person who can “roll up their sleeves” and help them to define and reach ‘future customer segments’.

Ideal candidates will likely have proven experience in building on heritage to tap new audiences and deliver revenue growth and will likely have action sportswear experience with a solid DTC know-how.

If we were to recruit for this role, we’d be very impressed if someone has operated in a fashion holding company before - ideally working for a brand. We’d be targeting people who are able to succeed by getting the most out of internal, matrix resources. We’d place high value on any experience marketing to consumers in the Asia Pacific region, especially China, as that’s a growth driver for the brand. Lastly, given the Dickies brand is currently in need of a boost we’d look for people who had experience in rejuvenating brands, vs launching them for the first time.

Product Marketing Lead, AR Category Development at Meta

  • Compensation: $232,000 - $296,000

  • Locations: LA, Seattle, Burlingame, NYC

  • Posted: 2 weeks ago

Meta, with over 1,300 vacancies globally, presents a unique opportunity to be part of groundbreaking projects in AR, AI, Virtual Reality, and more. The company is known for offering competitive salaries, with several positions exceeding $300K. The median salary at Meta is approximately $170K, three times higher than the US average.

Why Meta?
  • Top 10 employer in AI talent recruitment in 2023.

  •  Focus on AR development, redefining our relationship with technology.

  • Diverse opportunities in AR, AI, VR, data science, and software development.

  • Median pay for product marketing lead/director/manager positions in the US is $151K.

  • In Los Angeles, the median salary for full-time employees is currently close to $75K.

Zuckerberg calls AR goggles a “holy grail” device that will “redefine our relationship with technology,” akin to the introduction of smartphones. By highlighting AR, which has more practical, real-world usage right now, that could then act as a gateway point for that next level, and maybe, due to  some backlash about its VR space, Meta’s now going to turn to its AR development instead as a focus for its push.

Many people talk about Headset/Device sales and that’s what drives conversation. But it’s not only about the devices. The AR Advertising market Worldwide is estimated to generate a revenue of US$4.4bn by 2023 and is projected to experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR 2023-2028) of 11.00%, leading to a market volume of US$7.5bn by 2028. Whilst this role is hardware-focused, we know a top candidate will be looking to capitalize on the advertising side of the equation too.

So if we were to recruit for this role, we’d start by hunting from the other handful of AR equipment manufacturers. This means Magic Leap, Microsoft, Google, and Apple. we notice there’s quite a lot of innovation in ICE (In Car Entertainment) fields in computer vision and HCI.

On a resume, we’d be looking for evidence of developing lots of business cases for possible applications of new tech in consumer electronics - things like early applications for location-based services.

Senior Vice President of Marketing at Weedmaps

  • Compensation: $250,000 - $286,000

  • Location: Irvine, CA (1 to 2 days on-site)

  • Posted: 26 days ago

Weedmaps, a leader in the cannabis industry, currently has 10 job openings. The Senior VP of Marketing role stands out as their highest-paid open position, showcasing the pivotal role it plays in the company's growth.

Why Weedmaps?
  • Median salary for new roles at $123K, compared to $90K for Irvine.

  • Opportunity to be at the forefront of the evolving cannabis market.

  • Unique chance to lead and shape the marketing strategy for Weedmaps.

If we were to recruit for this role, we’d look for experiences in marketplaces, and online destinations that connect buyers with sellers, at scale.

We’d also consider hiring people from highly regulated industries like Pharma or related Healthcare where there was a priority on educating users. Skillset-wise, this is a mini-CMO skillset, where a broad understanding of functional areas and hiring and leading a team of experts seems more important than being the expert on everything.

Vice President, Head of Marketing at Tomo

  • Compensation: $220,000 - $250,000

  • Location: Stamford, CT (3 days on-site)

  • Posted: 3 weeks ago

Tomo Networks currently has six job openings, spanning mortgage-related roles, software engineering, and marketing positions. The VP, Head of Marketing position stands out as a crucial role within the company, encompassing all the responsibilities of a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Why Tomo?
  • Competitive pay range of $220-250K, exceeding the average of $192K for Head of Marketing positions in the US.

  • Opportunity to take on a 360-degree role, addressing everything from ideation to execution, brand to performance.

  • Be a key player in shaping the marketing strategy for Tomo Networks.

If we were to recruit for this role, we’d look for fintech and startup experience. We’d be looking for that type of unicorn who can excel in strategy but also be extremely hands-on versus delegating everything.

We would prioritize talent who can cut through ambiguity and manage passionate stakeholders in fast-paced environments. Target companies for this hire would include Fintechs like Sindeo, Sofi, Rocket Credible, and LendingTree as well as established players in online real estate such as Zillow and Rocket.

Head of Business Customer Marketing at Canva

  • Compensation: $237,000 to $356,000

  • Location: Remote

  • Posted: 1 week ago

Canva currently has a little over 200 vacancies. Canva’s median pay for senior roles is at 202K and the max is 412K.

Why Canva?
  • Competitive pay range of $237-356K, exceeding the average for Head of Marketing positions in the US.

  • The median salary for full-time employees in Austin, Texas is currently at $50K, and in San Francisco at $107K.

  • Global work flexibility with offices in Sydney, Australia, and hubs in Austin and San Francisco.

  • Opportunity to be part of a company of an innovative and vibrant culture.

  • Remote work flexibility with the ability to work in the office or a hybrid model.

If we are hiring for this role we’d prioritize identifying people who come from a company with a strong culture of freedom and empowerment. Places like Atlassian would be good because of their shared Australian heritage. We’d be less interested in talent from established, slow-moving competitors like Adobe and Microsoft, and more interested in scrappy people from mid-weight startups who are taking on the tech giants in the consumer applications space.

If you are applying for the role, make sure that it is clear who your enterprise customers and segments, were both prospects and clients, and include data on the financial targets you had been meeting and beating.

ACD/Creative Director, Performance Marketing at Robinhood

  • Compensation: $200,000—$235,000

  • Location: Menlo Park, CA and New York, NY

  • Posted: 2 weeks ago

Robinhood, a disruptor in the finance industry, currently has 55 vacancies, with a focus on financial markets-related candidates, software engineers, and data engineers. The median pay for these roles is $185K, showcasing the company's commitment to competitive salaries.

Why Robinhood?
  • Competitive salary range of $156-235K for the Creative Director, Performance Marketing position.

  • The median salary for full-time openings in Menlo Park, California, where Robinhood is headquartered, is currently at $127K.

  • Salaries for Creative Director roles in the US are at $156K.

  • Opportunity to work at the nexus of creativity and performance, blending creative vision with data-driven insights.

The cool thing about the job? They are literally inviting agency talent to apply in the JD copy, which suggests that they are into in-housing the type of work that an agency would do ordinarily.

This role sits at the nexus of creativity and performance, which is unusual – this suggests that they are hiring a Creative who has some DCO experience or is very data-driven. If we were hiring for the position, we would be recruiting from places like Merkle who have a solid reputation in strong creative work combined with direct marketing methods that scale.

Data points aren’t something you would expect to see a lot of on the average agency ACDs portfolio, but this role requires it. So we’d be looking for evidence that a creative applicant was obsessed with metrics and ROI.

Because Robinhood is a disruptor in a traditional industry, If we were recruiting for the role we’d be hiring for a person who had done work where continual iteration of ideas was required, constant A/B testing of everything. A continuum of creative work versus getting big ideas out twice a year.

Although it’s not mentioned on the job spec, we’d also expect a person who had worked on one or more DCO campaigns. It’s usually AI-enabled represents a very different way of thinking about creative execution.

Senior Vice President, Marketing Sciences, blu. at Horizon Media

  •  Compensation: $250,000 - $500,000

  •  Location: New York, NY

  • Posted: 30 days ago

About Horizon Media:
  • 3rd largest media agency in the U.S. with almost 3,000 employees and $8.7 billion in billings.

  • Recognized among the world's ten most innovative marketing and advertising companies by FAST Company.

  • Accolades include Media Agency of the Year from MediaPost, Adweek, and AdAge.

About blu.:
  • Introduced in January 2020, blu. is Horizon's omni-marketing solution driven by the Connected Marketing Platform.

  • Built on deterministic data from over 280 million Americans, supporting data-informed strategy, media storytelling, audience development, activation, and measurement.

Horizon Media currently lists approximately 80 vacancies with four senior positions offering salary ranges as high as $500K. Median pay for open roles at $97K, showcasing their competitive compensation. The median pay for Vice President positions in the US right now is at 180k. In New York, the median salary for full-time employees is at $85K.

The cool thing about the job? First off, it’s the salary. We know that Data Scientist Leaders get compensated well - but we were very impressed to see that the salary listed in the range was up to almost half a million dollars! The other notable thing about the JD is that it follows the best practice of breaking duties down clearly and in % terms.

According to our data, Horizon Media are fond of recruiting from rival media agencies such as Hearts and Science, Spark Foundry, MediaHub, OMD and Kinesso. If you work for any of those companies or similar, you could be in the “most favored” group of applicants based on statistics and hiring habits.

So if we were to recruit for this role, we’d look for big agency experience, and we’d likely tap Data and Analytics leaders. If not agency backgrounds, we’d look towards large consulting firms like Deloitte or Accenture. We would be less inclined to data-SMEs who had little to no experience in sales and capability development.
